MBA Degree Program, Finance, Saudi Applicant

I am a young man from the Middle East who is especially interested attaining the MBA Degree in the United States. XXXX’s MBA Program is my first choice for graduate school because of its excellent reputation as well as the excellent reputation enjoyed by broader academic community and the location of your university. I am convinced that I would be able to give my all to my studies at XXXX University and that I would be able to excel at high performance in this setting.

I believe that I have what it takes to excel in business because I am a very social person who is very dedicated to his studies and professional advancement. I have long been fascinated by the business world and, thus, have long cultivated what is for me a very natural interest and curiosity in stocks, bonds and real estate markets, etc., and very much enjoy studying all of these facets of business and the economy here in America. I enjoy living each day in English, the full immersion in a new language, and find increasing satisfaction in becoming a fully bilingual professional in my field.

I finished my BBA Degree in Finance last May of 2010 from the University of Texas at Arlington and I am now very excited about soon entering a graduate program in a related field that will prepare me to fulfill my long term aspirations since I hope to someday function as the CFO of an oil company or to manage a Bank. I want very much to continue to develop my teamwork and leadership skills and to prepare myself for shouldering increasing levels of responsibility as I make progress in my career.

I feel that it is important for the business professional to strive to be multicultural and to be open to learning new languages to demonstrate a commitment to multiculturalism. This is one of the reasons why I have progressed to an intermediate level in my understanding of both Spanish and French, speaking and understanding as well as reading.

I have also spent considerable time since high school developing professional experience in the banking sector, working for a commercial bank part time in my native Riyadh, which included one full summer training in the Investment Department. This experience helped to further increase my interest and motivation for my studies in finance and banking. I have always enjoyed learning all that I can about economics in general and the world of finance in particular, books, magazine articles, etc. In fact, I am becoming increasingly well read in a broad variety of areas including culture and history, in addition to my passion for sports, particularly swimming and basketball.

The greatest contribution that I might be able to make to society would be to build up a charity institution since I also feel that it is important for the business man or woman to not only be socially responsible at work, but also to devote part of her time or energy to making the world a better place for the less fortunate among us. I also look forward in the future to working on behalf of an institute devoted to financial management training for new generations of Saudi students. My cosmopolitan character and appreciation for multiculturalism has also been fostered by my travels; since my childhood, we have traveled almost every year to at least one foreign country. Thus, I have had the privilege of spending important periods of time in the UK, a full month in Beirut, and I have been to France on several occasions as well as visiting various areas of the United States, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Houston, and Boston. I especially enjoy London and Chicago since both are such noted centers of global financial transactions as well as serving as home to many leading finance institutes. I enjoy spending time on the stock exchange and New York will always be special to me for this reason.

I have faced many obstacles to achieving the success that I have in life. I am a very serious student and my good grades enabled me to attain a complete scholarship from the government of Saudi Arabia to pursue my Master’s Degree in the US. I worked at the Ministry of Finance as a Treasury coordinator for almost 18 months. After that, I worked in Budget management. These opportunities allowed me to practice my management skills to the point that I now consider myself an ambitious perfectionist who would someday like to serve in an executive management in position in the Saudi Ministry of Finance. I thank you for considering my application to your distinguished program.
